TMJ

TMJ, or temporomandibular joint disorder, is a condition affects the jaw joint and muscles that control jaw movement. It can cause pain and discomfort in the jaw face, and neck, as well as difficulty chewing and speaking. Causes of TMJ can include injury to the jaw, arthritis, teeth grinding, and stress. Acupuncture, Massage, Cupping, Guasha, treatments are an effective treatment for TMJ. When all techniques are combined they have a powerhouse effect! In traditional Chinese Medicine the main theory for pain or injuries, is to promote blood flow and energy to the area. This helps promote healing. Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the to stimulate the healing response. Cupping and Guasha use suction and scraping techniques to increase blood flow and reduce muscle tension. Massage techniques can also help to relax muscles and improve circulation, leading to reduced pain and increased mobility.
